I love to make things better. Is that a job?

Lucky for me, it really is.

I have had enough careers to last several lifetimes. I painted portraits, repaired bulldozers, baked bagels, crunched numbers, marketed luxury homes, and much more. With each vocational change, I learned more about my true passion: making processes easier and more enjoyable for everyone involved. I feel most at home solving new problems and learning new things.

My discovery that user-centered design is an actual career has been the second greatest blessing in my life (my wife, Rebecca takes the #1 spot ♡ ). I love every aspect of the creative process. User interviews, analyzing data, fast-paced iterations, user testing, detailed design; all of those activities light up my brain in such a wonderful way.

My attraction to learning new things has made me a collector of hobbies and interests. I have a gear closet full of outdoor toys and a studio full of music and artistic tools. I relish exploring new mechanisms, refining techniques, and discovering how one thing might connect to another in new and interesting ways. Applying this curiosity and creativity to your UX problem is my next big interest.

Tell me about your passion. Tell me about your problem.

What is the difference between work and play? Hopefully, nothing, if you truly love your job.
